REDD+ Monitoring
PaMs monitoring tracks the REDD+ activities of the National REDD+ Strategy. While the strategy was under formulation (February 2021), the programme strategies of the National Forest Programme 2016–2030 act as provisional PaMs. The 38 strategies related to REDD+ (marked in the document; its text says 37) are monitored as a priority. PaMs may also come from other instruments, such as the 10% tree cover strategy. Kenya takes a phased approach, aiming to measure how each PaM contributes to reducing deforestation and degradation, sustainable management and enhancement of carbon stocks.
