Removals

Afforestation removed on average 8,205,540 t CO₂ per year and canopy improvement 1,324,724 t, together 9,530,264 t CO₂ per year of enhancement. Removals by afforestation rose over the period, while those from canopy improvement fell from 1.53 Mt to 0.90 Mt per year.
