Safeguard Compliance Reports
Compliance is monitored through the instruments developed during REDD+ readiness:

| Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) | Assesses environmental and social risks of the REDD+ strategy options, with a roadmap |
| Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) | Sets how risks of REDD+ actions are screened, avoided and mitigated |
| Safeguards Information System (SIS) | Implementers report how safeguards are addressed and respected; information supports reporting, verification and validation |
| Feedback, Grievance and Redress Mechanism (FGRM) | Receives and resolves complaints (see Grievance & Feedback › Resolution Process) |
| Free, prior and informed consent (FPIC) and stakeholder guidelines | Consent of affected communities before activities on their land |
| Legal preparedness study; carbon rights, benefit sharing and corruption-risk studies | Clarify rights and how benefits are shared |
Summaries of how safeguards are addressed are reported to the UNFCCC with Kenya's national communications and transparency reports.
