Final accounting towards the Second NDC target takes place in 2037. Land-sector removals will be counted under the IPCC Good Practice Guidance for land use (2003).
Under the Warsaw Framework, Kenya reports its REDD+ strategy, Forest Reference Level, National Forest Monitoring System and summaries of safeguards information to the UNFCCC. REDD+ results are reported in a technical annex to the transparency report and recorded in the Kenya REDD+ Registry.
Five strategic options to address the drivers of deforestation and degradation.
52.2 Mt CO₂ a year (2002–2018): the benchmark for REDD+ results.
Satellite land monitoring, the National Forest Inventory and this forest information platform.
How the seven Cancun safeguards are addressed and respected.
Kenya reports forest area and change to FAO's Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA). Land-sector methods in the national GHG inventory were harmonised with the Forest Reference Level and the FRA 2020 report.
