Forest Cover Change & Loss
Forest loss and gain, deforestation, degradation and land cover change, nationally and for every county.
Change Detection
Change is detected by comparing SLEEK maps of two years (2002–2006, 2006–2010, 2010–2014, 2014–2018). Each pixel is labelled as unchanged or with its new land use, and each change is assigned to a REDD+ activity. A conditional probability network combines the class probabilities of several years so that genuine change is separated from spectral noise.
