Open Geospatial Data Standards

  • Formats: GeoTIFF (raster), GeoPackage or Shapefile (vector), CSV (tables).
  • Coordinate reference systems: WGS 84 for exchange; see Coordinate Reference Systems.
  • Metadata: ISO 19115 through the NFMS-FIP metadata template.
  • Exchange: secure web services and APIs, following national interoperability and e-Government information exchange frameworks.
  • Naming conventions and templates agreed by the NFMS/FIP technical working group.
