Forest Mapping Methodologies

Six broad IPCC classes are subdivided by national definitions: forest land by canopy (dense, moderate, open) and then by stratum using ancillary data; cropland into annual and perennial; grassland into wooded and open; wetland into vegetated wetland and open water.
