Data Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)

Validation, spatial quality checks, field verification, error correction and checklists.

Error Detection and Correction

  • Inventory coordinator: receives sector files, compiles one quality-controlled inventory, plans QA/QC and organises at least one external peer review of the sector reports and draft.
  • Sector coordinators: run sector QC checks, submit data and checklists with backups, run the key category analysis and keep hard and soft copies for the archive.
  • Multi-stakeholder Technical Working Group: reviewed the land-sector activity data and emission factors.
  • Transparency Accelerator Initiative: six experts came to Kenya to quality-check the initial estimates with the sector coordinators.
  • IPCC Task Force on National GHG Inventories: additional QA/QC support for the land-sector data.
