Governance Structure

Governance bodies, technical working groups, decision making and data governance.

Decision-Making Structure

Decisions on what is published follow a fixed path, and disputes move up the governance structure.

How a dataset gets onto the platform (click a step)

1. Submission: Data provider (Data Steward)

Submits the dataset with complete metadata to the FIP staging area, after preliminary validation and cleaning.

Steps 1–4 are the normal path; step 5 is used only for disputes. All actions and decisions are logged for audit. Submission states in the portal: Draft → Submitted → Under review → Returned or Approved → Published.
